Today will be the last Nieuw Jurk blogpost with a great outfit from their latest collection called New Jur©. It's a great 90's inspired colorfull look. I selected some of the pieces to create a cool head to toe look with lots of colors and edge. Interview Esther Meijer (part 4)

What was your inspiration for your new collection?

The phenomenon of copying in the fashion industry, and basically in every branch of the creative industry. Not only am I copied several times, night markets in Asia are overloaded with fake designs. KTZ, HBA and Boy London, where I position myself in between are examples of brands which are being copied.

How did you get the prints of this collection?

Do you still remember fun copying? It was big in the 90-ies and is still at many offices nowadays, I guess. I had to copy the theme literally and have a night out with my head on my scanner. Here I made a alloverprint. It's a nod to the portrait rights that everyone has, especially because I'm going to let these designs soon 'snitch' by replica factories in China.

T-shirt prints are always designed by Tom Tosseyn, a print designer from Antwerp. We share the same love for Smileys and hardcore. 'Smileys will never die' so to speak.

What do you think is important to stay over and over inspired in creating new collections?

Just walk out the door and get excited about things. By that I mean the feeling that the meaning to add a contribution to this world. A feeling which I experience in all areas of my life. I like to be the drop in the ocean.

I had a geat time in shooting the pictures of the collection, which came out with the lookbook on line in that same week. It's a great comfortable and edgy collection inspired by the 90's with croptops, caps, buckethats, leggings, colors, prints and oversized tops. The vest and shorts I'm wearing are both from a fleece fabric, 100% comfort. This gave me a 90's clubkid/90's HIP HOP vibes. The platforms are the Qozmo YRU shoes.
